WE. RENDER. SWITZERLAND.

SPOTREP #7

Hello again, and happy Easter to those of you who celebrate.

It's sometimes slow going, but work continues behind the scenes. One of the latest developments is the newly opened weapon animation front, a somewhat crucial step to seemlessly integrating the faction into Squad. So far the PzF3, SG550, and Pist75* - a little over half the infantry arsenal depending on how you count it, has been animated, which can be viewed in the brief animation reel below. Our new animator Rook is a self-described 'happy amateur', so if you have any critique or feedback he would be interested in hearing it.

*the Pist75 mostly uses edited M17MHS animations and is therefore not featured in the reel.

Another new noteworthy development is the first forays into map making by using real-work topographical data to generate height-maps for terrain creation. Can you tell what part of Switzerland this is taken from?

That will be all for now. Stay tuned for more updates!

I will either find a way or make one.
~ Hannibal

But what if that way is hard, arduous, and simply not quick enough?
Thankfully, we do not need to cross the alps like Hannibal did. We do not need to march with sandals. And we certainly do not need to bring Elephants with us.
From marching with horses to vehicles, humanity has made many strides in connectivity. And so, the Bucher Duro is the Swiss' answer for troop and equipment transport.
A domestic development answering the distinctly Swiss problems that include snow, mountains, difficult terrain and size. If it weren't for the Duro, the Swiss army would not have its maneuverability that is so desperately needed in the alpine landscape.

As many different people in multiple historic settings said:
The absence of evidence is not the evidence of absence.
Similarly we know that you are eager to see the newest updates to our mod, and trust us -- Silence means the total opposite of laziness.
Anyways, here is a small sneak peek. Discontent with the quality of the first soldier model, our notorious hardsurface-only-modeler Chuppy dared a dangerous dance. The dance into his unknown areas: Organic modeling.
Spending multiple months of his free time learning and improving his skills in anything that does not posses a sharp 90° angle.
And what can I say? It certainly paid off. The new soldier model has been redone completely from scratch and looks better than ever.
